We are a Rule 31 non-residential, outpatient treatment program offering services to males with a pattern of chemical abuse or dependency who are currently incarcerated at the Ramsey County Correctional Facility in Maplewood, Minn.
We help men ages 18 and older who are in the correctional facility - with a minimum of 45 days to serve to participate in our program.
Avalon RCF places heavy emphasis on behavioral change and is abstinence-based. Our program is unique because each individual is referred to the program by the court system, probation officers, and correctional facility case managers.
We provide individual care and treatment that is tailored to the unique needs and abilities of each individual. Our counselors work closely with a range of community-based resources to build a support system that promotes long-term recovery.
We use a variety of treatment components including: Group therapy, individual counseling, educational films and lectures, skill building lectures, and continued care upon release from the correctional facility.
Our therapeutic approach includes: drug education, relapse prevention, cognitive skills, anger management/domestic abuse, spirituality, family systems/relationships, support systems/on-going care and physical and emotional health education.
Length of stay is flexible and based on each person’s level of functioning, progress and length of sentence. Two program tracks are offered in two phases, with a total length of program of approximately 108 hours.
